Title: Sr. QA Engineer
- BASIC PURPOSE:
The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer serves as the primary Quality Assurance leader for partner factory management and is responsible for products from multiple sources. He/she participates in the new product development process, ensures that purchased products meet specifications and reliability requirements, and is responsible for customer complaint handling and post-FA activities. In addition, the Senior Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for leading customer-oriented audit activities at partner factories.
The position is also responsible for supplier quality development, APQP/PPAP activities, Process Change Notification (PCN) review, reliability qualification review, customer-specific requirement (CSR) compliance, and continuous quality improvement throughout the product lifecycle.
The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer works independently and, after initial training, is responsible for learning, understanding, documenting and communicating all Quality Assurance policies, procedures and processes.
- DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES (End Results Expected):
- Interface with partnership factories for all quality, reliability and process issues.
- Act as Quality representative in dealing with customer complaint handling and service activities.
- Work with partnership factories to analyze customer complaints and returned materials to identify cause of failure. And then drive factory to initiate and implement corrective and preventive action which conforms to Bourns’ CAR process with timely manner.
- Participate in new product development (NPI), APQP activities and PPAP review to ensure products comply with customer, automotive and Bourns quality requirements.
- Review Process Change Notifications (PCNs), manufacturing changes, material changes and supplier changes to assess quality impact and ensure compliance with customer requirements.
- Monitor SPC data, production records, quality metrics and reliability performance to identify risks and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct supplier qualification, capability assessment and regular on-site audits, including customer-oriented audits, and follow up on audit findings to closure.
- Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations and partner factories to support supplier development, manufacturing readiness and quality improvement activities.
- Serve as the Quality representative in Material Review Board (MRB) activities and coordinate Quality Control requirements as appropriate.

This position requires exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication and presentation skills. The successful candidate must be able to work independently, coordinate cross-functional teams, manage multiple priorities, and maintain a high level of accuracy in auditing and documentation.
- BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree or above major in EE, IE or Engineering related filed.
TRAINING, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:
- Minimum 7 years or above working experience in Quality functions and Quality satisfaction field.
- Good at reading, writing, listening and speaking English.
- Must have knowledge in ISO9001, IATF16949 Quality Management System and VDA 6.3 Process Audit.
- Demonstrated experience in APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA and SPC implementation.
- Experience in supplier development, supplier qualification, supplier quality management, and supplier capability assessment.
- Experience in Process Change Notification (PCN) review, change management, and customer-specific requirements (CSR), preferably for automotive customers.
- Must be familiar with the 8D problem-solving process, failure analysis and troubleshooting techniques, including 5-Why and Fishbone Diagram methodologies.
- Experience in reviewing reliability qualification results, conducting supplier audits, supporting customer audits, and driving continuous improvement through SPC and quality data analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate manufacturing risks and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Adapt to frequent domestic and international travel.
- Be independent, self-motivated, and a team player with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Passive component industry experience is preferred. Professional certifications such as VDA 6.3 Auditor, Internal Auditor, ISO/IATF Lead Auditor, Lean Six Sigma (GB/BB), CQT, CQE or CRE are a plus.
