Job Description:

1.  Support R&D Magnetic Design Team.

  • Support product development of custom magnetic products.
  • Includes concept work and modelling of component parts and assemblies.
  • Work with customer and Bourns engineering team to finalize agreed specifications.
  • Develop manufacturing level drawings and controls.
  • Liaise with sourcing and PCB manufacturers.

2.  Technical support

  • Daily technical support for the engineering team.
  • Day to day questions from customers (internal/external) and production.

3.  Industry standards and quality support.

  • Ensure DFM.
  • Determine control aspects for raw materials, sub-assemblies and finished goods.
  • Compliance with defined PCB standards, including those for packaging.
  • Support QE for failure analysis and remediation.

4.  Prototyping 

  • Develop models, and use mechanical simulation packages to assess suitability for purpose.
  • Identifying suitable suppliers and models for sampling.

5.  Material Selection.

  • Manage raw materials selection suitable for PCBs, including laminate and trace.
  • Assist SQE and Sourcing to identify suitable suppliers.

6.  Establish Design Rules for PCB.  

  • Establish and maintain design rules to meet safety regulatory standard.
  • Active role in EVT, DVT and PVT design cycles to drive product standards to zero defect capability.
