Title: Software Analyst,SAP
I. SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This position provides SAP application support for Company Manufacturing processes worldwide. Support to include analysis, design, functional configuration, testing and maintenance support for SAP MM/PP/QM/WM business processes including some non-SAP applications. Customer expectations and critical timelines are met or exceeded by managing and coordinating high level complex projects. Will work with overall project team members and may act as Team Lead to ensure projects are planned, coordinated and organized to meet production schedules and end-user department requirements. Works under the general direction of the Dir of IT - Mfg. & Eng. Systems.
II. DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES (End Results Expected):
- Responsible for project delivery, upgrades, enhancements, business process improvements and daily support of worldwide Manufacturing processes and functionality in SAP ERP system and non-SAP software to ensure optimal system performance. This includes analysis, design, functional configuration, testing and maintenance support.
- Knowledge of SAP MM/PP/QM/WM master data, integration and data flow as well as manufacturing processes.
- Works daily with business/end users to resolve production issues.
- Oversees, either directly or functionally, other Software Analysts in a team environment to carry out software development and support functions.
- Performs complex unit and integration testing for process improvements as required in assigned modules from development to production, troubleshoots configuration to support short-term and long-term business goals.
- Develops and proposes new ideas and advancements of new software concepts in support of Bourns corporate goals and objectives.
- Interfaces with functional unit process owners and users to identify, define, and document operational needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements and levels of system access. Provides support in determining feasibility of a software and/or hardware system that fulfills requirements, are cost effective, business related, and operationally compatible, when necessary.
III. DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Conducts, directs and coordinates efforts relating to special or assigned new software studies and/or evaluations.
- Creates and updates detailed business process procedures that can be easily understood by end-users.
- Educates users and supports training in the usage of the SAP modules, systems and functionality.
- Maintains problem and project information in SharePoint. Tracks and documents changes as required.
- Work on cross-functional project teams for enhancements, upgrades, new acquisitions and future roll outs. Gathers and documents requirements, designs processes, creates business blueprints, responsible for all functional configuration, creation and execution of testing plans, implementation in production and then daily support for business/end users. Ensures all plans and issue identification are clearly communicated to business and IT management.
- Is responsible for communication of operational documentation and processes to the IT Operations and Help Desk Organizations.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Communications or the combined equivalent education, work experience and skills in Manufacturing environment with strong knowledge of SAP Enterprise Resource Systems.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Five (5) plus years’ experience in SAP Business Suite modules, specifically using SAP MM/PP/QM/WM Suite in a manufacturing environment for a multinational company. Working in an I.T. environment with some programming experience. Strong working knowledge of SAP master data. Extensive SAP experience in analyzing all aspects of the implementation process, business process analysis, complete system configuration, development, testing, documentation, end-user training, and production support. Cross functional knowledge in other SAP modules such as Sales and Distribution (SD), Finance (FI) or SAP skills in EDI, ABAP, debugging and reporting tools like SAP BOBJ are a plus.
