Job Description:

          SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Under general supervision of PLM responsible for the preparation and management of Magnetic Components product quotes, special sales programs, price maintenance, analysis and coordination of product line sales activities and strategic pricing development utilizing experience, knowledge, and software tools to achieve margin revenue goals.  Responsible for daily pricing requests, and annual contract pricing for the Magnetic Components Product Line.

 

       DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES (End Results Expected):

  1. Pricing strategist with strong analytical skills, ensures that margins, sales revenue, and quote conversion rates are enhanced for the Magnetic Components product line.
  2. Works to establish business and pricing rules to maintain and grow the margin as needed.
  3. As requested, collects and reports results on quoting activity, which may include, effectiveness, price compliance, margin improvement and sales revenue growth. Makes recommendations for improvements.
  4. Track actual manufacturing cost/gross margin/price by model on monthly basis and provide trend analysis by product group family.
  5. Recommend pricing for the annual Distribution price book. Recommendation is based upon overall margin analysis, market strategy, competitive information, and other appropriate variables affecting DBC, Distributor Book Cost.
  6. Evaluate pricing proposals based upon overall margin analysis and identifying opportunities to increase product line margins.
  7. Manage all special pricing requests for all RFQ’s.  Pricing is based on market intelligence, customer usage, customer growth opportunities and strategic input from Account Managers and Product Line Manager.
  8. Perform quarterly margin and pricing analysis to support key business initiatives.
  9. Identify margin erosion and assist sales and product management team in recommendations to implement new pricing solutions to increase the margin.
  10. Evaluate pricing proposals based upon overall margin analysis, identifying opportunities to increase product line margins, participate and understand product line growth strategies sufficiently to incorporate into pricing decisions.
  11. Review special pricing requests and recommend appropriate action. Collect and maintain competitive awareness. Coordinate terms and conditions of sales with Corporate Contracts Department.
  12. Approve requests from Field Sales to a delegated level.
  13. Analyze history of customer awards and usage to support Bell Cow global Request for Quotes (RFQ’s) and recommend future actions.
  14. Ensure product quotes are quoted with a lead time that is fully aligned with the best possible capabilities of the company and the needs of the customer.
  15. Conduct product research studies on lost business and research competitive positioning within the marketplace.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Marketing or related areas or equivalent combination of education and work experience in sales and marketing.  

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:     Minimum of 1 year of pricing experience or customer service experience. Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with dissatisfied customers that may not like the proposal.  Able to logically explain decisions made on financial numbers.   

OTHER SKILLS:  Knowledge of MS/Excel or other spreadsheet applications.  Understanding and knowledge or numbers and how to work and evaluate the nubmers. Proficient in use of personal computer and software such as MS/Word, MS/PowerPoint, Access and SAP.
