Job Description:

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

As an Inside Sales Representative, you will be responsible for day-to-day interface with customers, distributors, sales organizations and internal departments. You will provide technical liaison and responsive service to all customers to include the coordination of solutions to performance of quality defects in addition to helping the Organization meet and exceed business sales objectives through account management. Handling all customers (internal and external) with a high degree of professionalism and courtesy is expected. As a member of Inside Sales team, you will assist and support designated customers as required to ensure the highest level of service is provided to ensure our customers are handled in a responsive manner. In addition, you will retain full ownership of your assigned accounts to include understanding your customer needs and assist sales in managing every aspect of that account. Because of the relationships you will establish with your accounts you will engage in proactive calls to solicit information, purchase orders, RFQ’s and market or competitive information to help us better understand how we can capture more business with the intent to increase that account’s total revenue value to Bourns, Inc.

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES (End Results Expected):

Handles quotations and follows-up on inquiries and opportunities. Promotes goodwill between customers and the company and maintains pertinent sales records. Provides day-to-day assistance to the Outside Sales Responsible within Asia under the general direction of the Inside Sales Manager.

Pre-order Request

  • Manages efficient daily incoming quote via Sales Cloud/Vistex and respond to customer timely
  • Processes incoming RFQs
  • Handle incomplete orders due to pricing issues together with CS
  • Continuously develops pricing intelligence (e.g. market price per applications/product families) in cooperation with Bourns Quote, PLM and OS team
  • Pro-active Follow-up / Conversion to Revenue
  • Does the quote, opportunity and sample follow-up together with Account Managers
  • Joint ownership with sales to increase the conversion of projects and quotes to achieve the regional Bourns sales plan

Daily/Regular Operation

  • Responds to customer requests related to new inquires, prices, technical questions, daily customer support
  • During absence of team / other IS team colleagues takes care of backup of the day-to-day activities, and handle all tasks as far as possible/as assigned
  • Escalates to and supports the corresponding IS Group Leader and the Operations Manager
  • Other duties as required.

Internal/External Alignment

  • Pro-actively initiates and participates and leads for team in trainings, seminars and etc.
  • Establishes, maintains and supports close working relationships with Bourns Quote, Product Line Management, manufacturer reps, customers and field sales personnel to solicit comments on department effectiveness and implements corrective or improvement actions.
  • Equip solid inside sales skill and business trading knowledge to align with sales team to exceed business goal by establishing effective operation procedure and continuous improvement on way of work.
  • Obtain business sensitivity and knowledge to fulfill customer specific “Supplier Performance Evaluation” standard to get highest business award by best-in-class service.
  • Participate in regular pipeline reviews by providing data-backed forecasts for expected close dates and deal values.
  • Activity-to-Outcome Alignment: Analyze activity metrics to identify and fix bottlenecks in sales funnel

Reporting

  • Align with field sales and maintain accurate records on consolidated data of customer interactions, lead/business opportunity status and deal stages to ensure clean, correct, updated data reporting  
  • Provide regular/ad hoc reports to management or sales team to align sales strategies.
  • Track sales KPIs against monthly/quarterly/annual targets with advanced use of intelligence tools for better alignment with internal teams to meet company goal.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of Information Technology (IT) systems used in the department (SAP, SAC, Sales Cloud, Vistex etc.). Performs liaison with IT for effective problem solutions and recommends new programs / system to improve department effectiveness.

BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

EDUCATION:             University graduated.

EXPERIENCE:           3~5 year experience in related technical, sales or electronics position desired.

OTHER SKILLS:  Ability to work independently with sense of urgency, prioritized judgment.  You must be able to demonstrate a strong working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications as needed to fulfill daily job functions. SAP4.6 or above ERP experience is a plus.
