- BASIC PURPOSE:

- Assist the Bourns Sales team to grow our business with technical support and design assistance to customers especially Automotive industry located in India.
- Identify and specify new product opportunities to serve existing and emerging applications.
- Identify product gaps, product trends and new applications impacting our business.
- DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES (End Results Expected):
- Activities to achieve design-Ins (qualification of Bourns solutions):
- Engage in direct contact with key customers and focus accounts, constantly pursuing deeper and stronger ties with the customer’s technical staff.
- Discover customer’s unmet needs in current and developing programs. Determine technically and commercially viable solutions to meeting these needs.
- Contribute to the Bourns library of application solutions
- Provide schematic level solutions/suggestions to customers.
- Assist sales activities by suggesting product samples needed and following up with the customer on their experience gained by using those samples.
- Provide technical application solution training to distribution channel partners and customers. This may include preparing and presenting technical information at conferences and trade shows.
- Engage distributors’ FAE/Sales team for assigned accounts/projects
- Conduct monthly tracking and discussing projects with distributors.
- Other Activities:
- Monthly activity reporting.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Provide test reports, technical data and surveys from Web inquiries
- Conduct technical/products seminars to customers and distributors
- Knowledge on industrial and telecom standards like IEC, GR and ITU
- INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
This position requires customer-facing activities and so requires excellent communications skills in addition to a strong circuit design background at the board level.
Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to find innovative solutions to overcome customer obstacles. The ability to make effective technical presentations and good technical/market knowledge is required to influence and advise Bourns customers in their selection process of Bourns solutions.
Success comes from the ability to develop strong relationships with the engineering staffs at our customers. This includes maintaining a high degree of cultural sensitivity in the territories served.
Excellent written and verbal communication in English is required
- BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
MSEE degree is preferred. A degree in any other engineering discipline, physics or science may be acceptable with appropriate electrical engineering experience.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience in board-level design and analog electronics is required.
Telecom/Datacom design experience is a plus.
Experience in Circuit Protection solutions will be a significant advantage.
Detailed knowledge of assigned market’s design platforms and applications is essential.
Semiconductor and passive devices application support experience is a plus.
Knowledge of Telecom/Datacom market industry safety and performance standards (e.g. ITU, IEEE) is a plus.
