Job Description:

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

 

Profit and loss responsibility for Trimpot®   product line operations manufactured by Bourns and sourced by Bourns.  Champions, promotes and manages the Trimpot®   product line to grow sales revenue and optimize profitability. Ensures product line remains competitive and develops leadership position in target market segments. Supports Sales team in targeting key customers. Provides leadership for all direct functions dedicated to the Trimpot®   product line, including application engineering, and pricing specialist.  Develops, formulates and executes short- and long-term product business plans. Keeps abreast of product, market, technology and applications trends and provides leadership for selection and execution of product development and technology adoption.   Drives a culture of highest customer service level.   Ensures that consistent quality practices and process controls are in place.

 

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

  1. Champions and promotes Trimpot®   product line to optimize market share position and sales revenue in partnership and cooperation with sales and market management functions.

 

  1. Develop and execute short- and long-term business plans for the Trimpot®   product line.

 

  1. Maintain and update product and technology roadmap and identify opportunities for new product development

 

  1. Drive customer focused culture through the product line.

 

  1. Establish and execute effective recovery and improvement actions as required.

 

  1. Establish meaningful measurable goals for direct reports and continually review performance, recommend pay increases, disciplinary actions and other personnel changes.

 

  1. Ensure appropriate representation in applicable industry association and standards committees.

 

  1. Establishes goals and improvement strategies for model families and product related processes. Manages projects in conjunction with engineering, manufacturing, and other functions to improve technical performance and cost competitiveness.

 

  1. Plans, directs and implements product related service improvement projects (Digitization/EOL of old records) on a worldwide basis to meet customer and business needs.

 

  1. Establishes and monitors service performance matrices to improve overall plant service levels, enhance efficiencies and minimize product returns from plants.

 

  1. Plans and implements model line modifications, product obsolescence, and product training.

 

  1. Establishes and maintains complete portfolio of competition, including product strategies, product line analysis, testing and competitor product changes. Ensures effective competitive training of the sales organizations and engineering functions.

 

  1. Establishes product support and distribution channel growth programs and is responsible for the development and implementation of marketing communications materials and field training.

 

  1. Evaluates and approves all proposed engineering changes and coordinates customer approvals when required.

 

  1. Manages Trimpot®   pricing worldwide to optimize volume, market share and profitability.

 

  1. Provides direction and matrix manages Engineering programs to improve product line competitiveness.

 

  1. Monitors SAP database relating to price minimums, multiples and stock adjustability.

 

BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 

EDUCATION

Normally graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with an Engineering Degree (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred), or equivalent education, training or experience.

 

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: 

Demonstrated ability to perform the above duties. Preferred material science knowledge.

 

OTHER SKILLS:

Must have good time management skills, be able to continually evaluate priorities and make appropriate adjustments.   Financial acumen required.   Must possess potential to grow into future roles with increasing responsibilities.

 

EQUIPMENT OPERATED:

Personal computer and office software such as MS/Word, MS/Excel, MS/PowerPoint, MS/Project.

Excellent written skills to issue instructions, present ideas, concepts,  and solutions to all levels  of personnel  via letters,  memos,  presentations,  graphs, charts, documents, etc.

 

SCHEDULING AND PLANNING:

Involved in daily, short-term and long-range planning activities and project management.

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Frequent travel up to 50% of the time.

 

HIRING RANGE:

$155,200.00 - 166,000.00 plus 10% bonus.
