Title: Intern Engineering Senior
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Under close supervision, performs engineering-related assignments as part of a cross-functional team. This may include utilizing advanced engineering software to support senior engineers and designers in various project tasks, collaborating with cross functional teams to gain a deep understanding of component design, manufacturing, and marketing aspects, conducting tests, analyzing results, proposing improvements, and contributing to program development.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
1. Mastering advanced engineering software packages and tools to support senior engineers and designers in complex projects.
2. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless integration of component design, production, and marketability.
3. Taking a lead role in conducting comprehensive testing and analysis to validate design integrity and optimize performance.
4. Utilizing your knowledge to identify and implement innovative solutions to overcome technical challenges and enhance product functionality.
5. Taking on a pivotal role in driving process improvement initiatives and contributing to the development of new programs and technologies.
6. Assisting in the preparation of high-level technical specifications, detailed reports, and estimates to support effective program management.
7. Maintaining meticulous engineering records to ensure accurate documentation and traceability.
8. Actively participating in division-wide initiatives and programs, leveraging your experience and knowledge to make significant contributions.
BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Must be able to participate in team projects.
COMMUNICATIONS: Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and possess the ability to produce written communications, prepare reports and documentation that are clear and concise.
SCHEDULING AND PLANNING: Must be able to work to the schedule described in a project plan.
EDUCATION: Successful completion of three years of college from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in Engineering required.
EXPERIENCE: Demonstrated ability to perform the above functions. Prior work assignments in engineering-related activities preferred.
OTHER SKILLS: AutoCAD and Pro-E training and/or other manufacturing software a plus.
EQUIPMENT OPERATED: Telephone, personal computer, and various lab test equipment.
