Job Description:

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Under the general supervision of the Riverside Facilities Manager, employee will be responsible for building cleaning maintenance, maintain janitorial supplies and initiate reordering of supplies as required, assist with minor facilities assignments as needed and time permits, respond to minor emergencies after normal business hours, and perform special cleaning assignments when requested through planned overtime.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  1. Vacuum and shampoo carpet
  2. Mop, strip and wax floors
  3. Empty Trash
  4. Clean restrooms and restock restrooms with supplies
  5. Maintain Clean rooms within required specification
  6. Dust
  7. Clean kitchen, dining area, and patio furniture

EXPERIENCE: Must have experience operating janitorial machinery and some shop tools.

 

EQUIPMENT OPERATED: Various powered floor cleaning equipment, hand, and shop tools.

 

PHYSICAL EFFORT : The physical effort will consist of standing, bending, kneeling, and operating various power floor cleaning equipment, mops and brooms. Some lifiting will be required when handling bulk supplies and assisting facilites personnel 

 

  WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • The work environment is mostly indoors; limited outdoor cleaning will be required to maintain the patios.
  • The normal weekly work hours are Monday – Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
  • Approximately 100 hours of planned overtime required annually to perform special cleaning assignments.

 

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:  Must work well with others.      

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Must perform other duties as assigned.

 

COMMUNICATIONS: Must be able to communicate effectively with others. Minimum writing skills required.
