Job Description:

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Assists Technical Publications Specialist with coordinating, preparing, and issuing new product releases to worldwide salesforce. Produces digital artwork for Bourns data sheets and related technical documents including price sheets, material declaration sheets and product announcements. Assists in managing data sheet historical archives and records. Ensures consistency of content for all advertising collateral, following established Company brand guidelines and marketing communications recommendations.

 

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES (End Results Expected):

  1. Coordinates, schedules, prepares, and distributes new product release information to worldwide sales force via email ensuring that established Marcom procedures are followed for successful product introductions. Tracks all mandatory and optional launch elements, including new product brief, distributor templates, cross reference, certificate of compliance, and others. Keeps product management informed of requirements and status. Assists with maintaining and updating New Product Release Guide, instructions, forms as well as weekly NPR Overview.

 

  1. Interfaces with product management to acquire input and determine deadlines, requests necessary information and obtains approvals to produce accurate, consistent output of technical information in a timely manner. Balances workload and prioritizes multiple projects/deadlines/tasks, keeping Technical Publications Specialist informed of daily activities.

 

  1. Assists in producing finished digital artwork from established format for all data sheets and related technical documents, including price lists, product announcements, and other documents.

 

  1. Assists with technical web responsibilities including pdf file and hyperlink creation, maintaining where-to-buy directories and links for worldwide selling organization, providing instructions for html information, managing monthly notification messages for subscribers, maintaining historical files, and archives of web update.

 

  1. Complies with established corporate procedures to produce and issue product change, product obsolescence, product update and product activity notifications. Follows up on changes to complete tasks on scheduled effective dates.

 

  1. Helps to maintain historical data sheet master files for all products.

 

  1. Functions as second department proofreader. Ensures consistency of content for all advertising collateral, following established Company brand guidelines, and marketing communications recommendations.

 

BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree

 

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

For graphic assignments must be proficient with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator. In addition, must be skilled in Microsoft Office. Need to possess general design skills as well as strong organizational skills. Five years’ experience in a corporate environment is suggested.

 

COMMUNICATIONS:

Must be able to verbally communicate with internal and external clients in a clear, concise, accurate and professional manner. Must have good written skills to communicate to create business documents, reports, emails, letters, and sales/distribution materials. Written documents must be clear, concise, and accurate. Must have strong proofreading skills.

 

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

Demonstrates the ability to interface effectively throughout the corporation (including Product Line Managers, Legal Department, Division GMs) and within the marcom team, to obtain desired results with all projects. In addition, able to analyze and solve related problems and challenges.

 

SCHEDULING AND PLANNING: 

Completes design and production tasks in a timely manner. Must be able to multitask and work within tight deadlines.

SALARY RANGE:

$68,640.00 - $75,444.00
