JOB TITLE: Quality Supervisor
Location: Heredia, Costa Rica
JOB ROLE
Supervise the quality inspection processes of the manufacturing and final assembly areas in order to ensure compliance with procedures, inspection tasks, product release, acceptance and rejection.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Allocate the necessary resources to carry out the inspection processes, including human resources, equipment, tools, and designated areas.
- Supervise the execution of the inspection processes, verifying inspection records and the inventory flow at each workstation.
- Conduct process audits of nonconforming products and create an annual process-product audit plan according to the standard.
- Analyze the findings from the inspections and provide appropriate guidance for products that do not meet specifications.
- Monitor the attendance of your staff using the (geo-time) system on a daily basis, as well as keep the different related documents of your area in charge updated.
- Verify corrective actions and their effective implementation.
- Submit a monthly report to all area coordinators and supervisors.
- Conduct training courses on the application of the tool (master website).
- Coordinate and generate recruitment and training requirements for new and/or existing staff so they can adequately fulfill their responsibilities.
- Ensure compliance with objectives related to disciplinary matters (absenteeism), morale (esteem, self-esteem, motivation), and other aspects (turnover and organizational climate), in alignment with organizational policies.
- Ensure compliance with the requirements related to the company's Quality Management System, in accordance with the certifications adopted by the organization.
- Provide support in resolving specific personnel-related conflicts.
- Promote activities that strengthen the organizational culture and foster a positive team environment, promoting motivation, teamwork, customer service, and other positive attributes.
- Maintain a work environment focused on developing the 6S methodology, supporting your team in its application.
- Promote and support continuous improvement processes that enable the development of Lean Manufacturing initiatives to increase productivity and reduce lead times, defective products, and unnecessary costs.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings throughout the year to monitor the tasks and concerns of your team, correct deviations, and make timely decisions.
- Conduct performance evaluations of your team members within the established timeframe, using the company's evaluation model and policies, to determine the level of timely and accurate achievement of the objectives and goals set for the area.
- Ensure compliance with the Organization's occupational safety, health, and environmental regulations, and actively participate in identifying risks that threaten the safety of individuals, as well as manage the resources needed to prevent or eliminate them.
- Ensure that the personnel under their supervision comply with the Internal Work Regulations and the policies established by the Organization.
- Perform other duties related to their position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Industrial Engineer or related field.
- 3 years of experience in similar responsibilities.
- Knowledge of methodologies (Kaizen, Lean Six Sigma, Red Ex)
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards
- Advanced Excel skills
- Knowledge of Core Tools and Minitab
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- B1 level English (spoken and written)
