JOB TITLE: QUALITY MANAGER

Location: Heredia, Costa Rica

JOB ROLE

To ensure that products, services, and processes meet or exceed established quality standards, aiming for customer satisfaction. This involves developing and implementing quality assurance systems, conducting audits, and collaborating with various departments to achieve optimal quality outcomes.     

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To ensure Quality Standards, setup and maintaining quality standards within an organization, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
  • To Develop and implement quality control procedures, this includes creating inspection plans, setting standards, and establishing testing methods to ensure products meet specifications. Monitor and evaluate quality, track products through the manufacturing process, ensuring adherence to quality standards at each stage.
  • To collect and analyze data to identify trends, pinpoint areas of weakness, and track performance metrics.
  • To provide training on quality standards, procedures, and best practices to production line staff.
  • To communicate and Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, to ensure clear communication and understanding of quality requirements. To Maintaining accurate records of quality procedures, tests, and findings.
  • To conduct internal and external audits to assess quality systems, identifying areas for improvement, and reporting findings to management.
  • To identify and understand customer expectations and requirements to ensure products meet their needs.
  • To Plan and organize the tasks of the areas under their responsibility in accordance with the Company's Quality policy and strategies, to achieve compliance with the goals related to quality control (management indicators) of their work area and of the Organization in general.
  • To define, delegate and monitor goals related to quality assurance aspects, aligned with the Organization's objectives.           
  • Ensure the effectiveness of quality process control, as well as the effective administration and implementation of the Quality Management System in accordance with the requirements of the company's regulations focused on product quality.
  • Coordinate and direct technical and administrative aspects with their team regarding the anticipation and identification of problems and risks, to guarantee quality improvement, as well as control the proper use of resources necessary to ensure the quality of raw materials, inputs, and finished products.
  • Define, delegate, and monitor the goals of their area of ​​responsibility related to quality improvement, to ensure that processes are carried out in accordance with existing policy.
  • Effectively manage the selection, evaluation, approval, and monitoring of suppliers of raw materials, products, and services that directly impact product quality.
  • Coordinate and develop solutions to quality, manufacturing, and technical problems, together with the heads of other departments.
  • Promote activities that strengthen the organizational culture and create a positive environment within the team, fostering motivation, teamwork, and customer service, among others.
  • Ensure work environments focused on developing the 6S philosophy, supporting the team in its implementation.
  • Encourage and support continuous improvement processes that enable the development of Lean Manufacturing initiatives to increase productivity and reduce lead times, defective products, and unnecessary costs.
  • Hold periodic 1:1 meeting throughout the year to follow up on the tasks and concerns of the staff in charge, correct deviations, and make timely decisions.
  • Conduct the performance evaluation process for the staff in charge, within the established period and using the Company's evaluation model and policy, to determine the level of timely and accurate compliance with the objectives and goals proposed in the area.
  • Ensure compliance with the standards related to occupational safety, health and the environment established in the Organization, actively participate in the identification of risks that threaten the safety of people, as well as manage resources to avoid or eliminate them, to comply with the measures established for occupational safety, health and the environment.
  • Hold periodic (1:1) meetings throughout the year to monitor the tasks and concerns of the staff under their supervision, correct deviations, and make timely decisions.
  • Conduct the performance evaluation process for the staff under their supervision, within the established period and using the Company's evaluation model and policy, to determine the level of timely and accurate compliance with the objectives and goals set in the area.
  • Ensure compliance with the standards related to occupational safety, health, and the environment established in the Organization, actively participate in the identification of risks that threaten the safety of people, and manage resources to prevent or eliminate them, to comply with the established occupational safety, health, and environmental measures.
  • Ensure that the staff under their supervision complies with the Internal Work Regulations and the policies established by the Organization.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree as Engineer Mechanic, Electronic, Industrial, Chemistry
  • Master’s degree in industrial Engineer or related
  • Norm ISO 9001, IATF16949,
  • System y Toyota Production System (TPS).
  • Manufacturing process

  • Six Sigma.
  • English B2+
  • Experience, more > 6 years
  • Software Minitab
  • SAP ERP
  • MSN office.
