Title: Section Chief
I. SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Automation Equipment Section Chief is responsible for the development of manufacturing equipment and tooling. This role focuses on mechanical design, tooling development, and automation solutions to support production efficiency, equipment reliability, and continuous manufacturing improvements.
II. DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Design and develop automation equipment, mechanical structures, fixtures, and tooling to support manufacturing operations.
- Oversee equipment development projects from concept design, prototyping, testing, and final implementation.
- Review and optimize mechanical designs to enhance equipment performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Work closely with production, process, and quality teams to address manufacturing challenges and support new product introduction.
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for equipment-related mechanical issues.
- Drive automation improvements and continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce operational costs.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and training to engineers and technicians within the team.
- Ensure proper documentation and control of engineering drawings, specifications, and design changes.
- Support equipment installation, commissioning, and production line improvements.

ORAL: Excellent skills required to effectively communicate concepts, plans and initiatives with various levels of management within and outside the company.
WRITTEN: Excellent skills required to effectively develop and present proposals, ideas, concepts, reports, training programs and solutions and document processes and action plans.
LANGUAGES: Must be fluent bi-lingual in both verbal and written English and Mandarin.
V. SCHEDULING AND PLANNING
Must be able to develop meaningful short-term and long-term strategic plans and proposals, complex project plans involving all aspects.
VI. BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related fields.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum of six years experiences in mechanical design and tooling/fixture design for automation or manufacturing equipment. Able to utilize SolidWorks and Inventor to create 3D models, mechanical designs, and engineering drawings.
VII. WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Primarily office and factory environment. Occasional travel may be required.
VIII. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

- Experience leading an engineering team or supervising automation equipment development projects is preferred
- Familiarity with production automation, assembly equipment, or process improvement projects is preferred
- Knowledge of manufacturing systems and continuous improvement methodologies is preferred
