BASIC FUNCTION
Reporting to the Quality Director Power Division and as part of the local leadership staff, the Quality Manager Tunisia is primarily responsible for:
- Ensuring the end-to-end customer satisfaction of the Bourns Tunisia customer base.
- Driving zero-defect mentality across all Tunisian sites and promote built-in quality in products and processes.
- Driving CI activities focused on developing a quality culture and prioritizing improvements with highest impact to customer experience, quality, financial, and operational goals.
- Monitoring and continuously improving the Quality Management System according to Bourns corporate standards.
- Build and further develop a strong quality organization for all Tunisian sites.
- Lead and execute Bourns strategy for IATF 16949 certification for all Tunisian sites.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Following the responsibilities for the Quality Manager Tunisia:
- Establishes quality standards and guidelines for manufactured products and processes.
- Evaluating and improving the effectiveness of the existing quality control process and keeping up-to-date with the latest quality standards and regulations in the industry.
- Manages the Plant Quality Department which includes Day to Day activities, Budget, Resource allocation, Employee assessment and development and Supplier Management.
- Leads, implementation, and verification of the appropriate Quality Management Systems throughout the operation, providing quality leadership and support in the development and launch of new products, processes including leading Plant APQP activity and Customer and Supplier PPAP.
- Make recommendations, plans, and suggestions that promote continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Oversees and/or may lead the auditing of internal Quality Systems and industry quality system requirements (i.e., IATF 16949, VDA, ISO 9001, AEC-Q)
- Confirms the completion of daily production line startup verification (includes Poka-Yoke’s).
- Has the authority and the responsibility to stop any process or product delivery in case of a non-conformance of customer expectations, safety, or environmental risks.
- Analyzes organizational Quality Metrics and performs managerial reviews to evaluate results and recommend action plans to close gaps at an operational level.
- Ensures functional participation in product development and launch activities including identification of customer expectations, manufacturing, and ongoing production test support.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with the latest quality management practices.
- Other relevant activities as directed by the Country Quality Manager Tunisia and the Quality Director, Power Division.
COMMUNICATIONS:
ORAL: The Quality Manager Tunisia should have excellent negotiation, influence, and communication skills. Should also be able to present complex quality matters and data in a clear and professional manner to senior and executive management.
WRITTEN: The Quality Manager Tunisia must have the ability to communicate complex quality topics clearly and concisely in English. The Quality Manager Tunisia must be able to prepare understandable and effective (i) reports, emails, analysis, and letters to multiple stakeholders within the Company, (ii) communications to, and agreements with, Company customers, Third Party service providers, executives, suppliers, and subcontractors in all aspects of quality related matters.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university is required. Strong preference in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial engineering areas; Masters Degree is a plus.
- Must have 15+ years of quality-related and operational experience in a global manufacturing environment, including a minimum of 10+ years working in a similar position. Has working knowledge and is considered subject matter expert in some of the key quality tools such as Auditing, IATF, VDA 6.3, 8D-Report, DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, APQP and error-proofing.
- Must have strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills. As a minimum, the candidate must demonstrate full proficiency in the use of the 8D methodology. Working knowledge of problem solving techniques such as Shainin or DMAIC will be considered a plus.
- Must demonstrate a good understanding of fact-based decision-making and proficient use of root cause analysis applied to quality management improvement.
- Must have experience in leading and developing large teams across multiple sites.

The Quality Manager Tunisia must:
- Have strong analytical abilities and pay close attention to detail;
- Have the ability to provide practical advice and operate at a high level in a demanding environment.
- Possess strong technical skills with MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
