Job Description:

JOB TITLE: Logistics Specialist

Location: Heredia, Costa Rica

 

 JOB ROLE

Support the company's logistics operations, ensuring efficient implementation of import, export, freight transport, and customs compliance processes, in order to guarantee product availability and resource optimization.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide monitoring of cargo in transit to ensure on-time delivery and thus meet the company's goals.
  • Coordinate with transportation companies, warehouses, and customs all activities related to material logistics.
  • Maintain the entry (import) and weight distribution (export) report, which includes all incoming or exported cargo.
  • Generate DUAs (import, export, temporary internment, etc.), issue electronic invoices, air or sea waybills, and other customs processes required for cargo movement.
  • Enter the VUCE (Vuce) records for non-hazardous products, which must be registered in order to complete import procedures.
  • Carry out donation, recycling, or destruction procedures as required.
  • Maintain the operations ledger for imports of Trimpot Electronicas, Ltda.
  • Maintain the registry of imported products and coordinate with the regent when additions or changes are required.
  • Maintain updated information in SAP.
  • Send cargo statuses or pre-alerts, as appropriate, to interested parties.
  • Process electronic logistics invoices for payment and coordinate with the accounting department to keep accounts payable to suppliers up to date.
  • Ensure safety and keep their workplace clean and tidy (compliance with the 6Ss).
  • Fulfill the responsibilities of their position regarding occupational health, hygiene, and the environment, as well as report to their immediate supervisor any anomalies detected that threaten staff safety.
  • Support continuous improvement processes that enable the development of Lean Manufacturing initiatives to increase productivity and reduce delivery times, defective products, and unnecessary costs.
  • Perform other duties related to their position and as assigned by their immediate supervisor.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Técnico o Bachillerato en Aduanas o Logística.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in similar positions
  • Knowledge of Office Suite
  • Knowledge of the SAP system (desirable)
  • Certifications in logistics or supply chain (e.g., APICS, Lean Logistics) (desirable).
  • English (B2)
