Title: Engineering Coordinator
JOB TITLE: ELECTRONIC COORDINATOR
LOCATION: Bourns Heredia, Costa Rica
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Coordinate and ensure the proper functioning of activities related to electronics, electronic equipment, and electronic systems, guaranteeing compliance with the quality, productivity, safety, and reliability standards established by BOURNS.
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
a) Coordinate technical activities related to electronic processes and equipment used in the plant.
b) Manage the financial resources (mechanical and electronic) under their responsibility.
c) Supervise and monitor continuous improvement, automation, and process optimization projects.
d) Analyze technical issues and coordinate actions to identify and eliminate root causes.
e) Provide support to Production, Quality, and Engineering regarding issues related to electronic processes or systems.
f) Coordinate the installation, validation, modification, and commissioning of electronic equipment or processes.
g) Ensure compliance with technical specifications, procedures, quality standards, and customer requirements.
h) Analyze performance indicators for processes under their responsibility and implement corrective actions when necessary.
i) Participate in projects focused on cost reduction, operational efficiency, productivity, and process improvement.
j) Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities related to electronic equipment, as applicable.
k) Prepare and maintain technical documentation, procedures, work instructions, and records associated with the processes.
l) Coordinate testing, diagnostics, and validation of equipment, components, and processes.
m) Collaborate with suppliers and corporate teams to resolve technical issues and manage improvements.
n) Participate in failure investigations, root cause analysis, and the definition of corrective and preventive actions.
o) Ensure that changes to processes or equipment are carried out in accordance with established procedures.
p) Promote a culture of quality, safety, productivity, and continuous improvement.
q) Coordinate and develop the technical staff under their responsibility, where applicable.
r) Comply with and promote BOURNS policies regarding occupational safety, quality, the environment, and business ethics.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronic or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- English B1
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office tools
- Six Sigma documentation management
- Statistical software (Minitab or JMP) and other statistical tools
- Advanced SAP skills
- Lean Manufacturing
- Experience in personnel management
- Knowledge and use of failure analysis tools
- Knowledge of mechanical and electronic measurement systems
- Knowledge of management systems
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to synthesize information
- Application of the 5S methodology
- Teamwork, negotiation, synthesis, organization, and innovation.
