JOB TITLE: Manufacturing Engineer Sr

Location: Heredia, Costa Rica

 

JOB ROLE

Lead projects to improve, validate, and optimize manufacturing processes and technologies, ensuring excellence in quality, productivity, costs, and delivery times. Serve as a technical expert for the processes and products under their responsibility, supporting the organization in strategic decision-making.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead process implementation and improvement projects, ensuring measurable results in scrap, productivity, safety, and costs.
  • Evaluate and validate complex manufacturing processes, raw materials, and new technologies, ensuring compliance with specifications and regulations.
  • Serve as a leading technical expert on the products and processes under their responsibility, supporting the resolution of critical problems and the definition of manufacturing strategies.
  • Present analyses, results, and improvement proposals to senior management and executive departments.
  • Analyze problems on the production line using advanced root cause analysis methodologies and statistical tools.
  • Conduct technical and quality audits on processes, ensuring compliance with international standards and best practices.
  • Create, update, and manage complex technical documentation (Control Plan, SOP, PFMEA, capability studies, validations).
  • Coordinate and train multidisciplinary teams in continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, RedX).
  • Support and ensure compliance with the Quality Management System (ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
  • ​​Develop optimization and automation initiatives for electronic component manufacturing and packaging processes.
  • Ensure safety, health, and environmental sustainability in the processes under their responsibility.
  • Other related functions according to the strategic needs of the area.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electronic, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Master's degree in engineering, manufacturing, quality, or related fields (desirable, in progress, or completed).
  • More than 5 years of experience in manufacturing, with technical leadership or project management roles.
  • Industrial manufacturing processes and electronic component packaging technologies.
  • Continuous improvement tools: Lean, Six Sigma, RedX.
  • Quality standards: ISO 9001, IATF 16949.
  • Advanced Office and statistical software (Minitab).
  • SAP or other ERP (desirable).
  • Advanced English (B2-C1), oral and written proficiency.
