Title: Applications Manager - AI Magnetics
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
As the Business Development Manager for AI Magnetics, you will be responsible for defining and driving business opportunities for magnetic components (both standard and custom) in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) market. You will serve as a liaison between external partners, customers, and internal groups such as Sales, Marketing, and Engineering. The role involves collaborating with sales and engineering teams to understand customer needs and provide solutions that meet those needs. A strong focus will be placed on developing the magnetics business in the AI market by identifying new applications and opportunities. You will also perform and report on market conditions and competitive products.
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Determine new market potential and identify new clientele in the AI market.
- Provide technical support to sales representatives and customers.
- Define and recommend new products or modifications to existing products to enhance market position in the AI space.
- Develop application-specific demo boards and application notes for publication.
- Manage day-to-day relationships with strategic customers and develop a deep understanding of their organization and long-term business.
- Monitor and report on opportunities within the assigned geographical territory on a monthly basis.
- Attend conferences and exhibitions to present and demonstrate products.
- Work with internal engineering teams to define and create reference designs for customized magnetic products for AI applications.
- Work with design engineers in other manufacturing locations to release new products.
- Contribute to the development of product specifications and requirements.
- Work with divisional marketing and MARCOM to prepare promotional materials, application notes, and technical papers to support business growth.
PRINCIPAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
- End customers, with a focus on the AI market
- Semiconductor partners for market intelligence
- Internal Applications teams, Engineering, Marketing, and Laboratory Technicians
- Sales Force and Field Application Engineers (FAEs)
- Product Line Management (PLM, PLD) and General Managers (President, VPs, etc)
- Production sites in Tunisia, Mexico, China and Taiwan
BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or technical related discipline from an accredited university required. A Master’s Degree in an Engineering field preferred.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Five to seven years of component sales and/or applications/sales engineering experience with knowledge of product applications, specifications, technical drawings, and engineering analysis desired.
OTHER SKILLS:
Proficiency in MS/Word, MS/Excel, MS/PowerPoint, M/S Project, SAP, Bourns Opportunity Sales Tracking System.
EQUIPMENT OPERATED:
Telephone, and personal computer
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
You must be a capable motivator and possess the ability to effectively communicate, present, and recommend ideas and solutions. Success in this role comes from the ability to develop strong relationships with the "engineering group" internally and with customers.
ORAL:
Excellent English is required to communicate instructions and present ideas, concepts, and solutions to all levels of employees and customers.
WRITTEN:
Excellent written skills in English are required to issue instructions and present ideas, concepts, and solutions via letters, memos, graphs, and charts. This includes the ability to write strong technical reports and proposals.
SCHEDULING AND PLANNING:
Handles scheduling of prototype opportunities. Performs project management of opportunities from concept to release.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
The working environment is primarily office-based, with up to 60% travel required to visit customers, attend conferences, and occasionally visit manufacturing facilities.
HIRING RANGE:
HIRING RANGE: 155,000 - 175,000 plus 15% Bonus
