Job Description:

PRODUCTION COORDINATOR

Location: Heredia, Costa Rica

 

JOB ROLE

Responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of the production line in an electronics manufacturing facility. This includes leading a team of supervisors and production leaders across multiple shifts, ensuring optimal production in quality, efficiency, and safety, while meeting schedules and achieving production goals. The position also includes managing processes across multiple shifts, ensuring smooth transitions, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, you must collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time, high-quality, and cost-effective production of electronic components/products.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Production Supervision:

• Manage and coordinate the production line across all shifts (Morning, Afternoon, Night), ensuring optimal productivity and proper output quality.

• Work closely with supervisors and production leaders to ensure team performance aligns with production goals.

• Monitor production schedules and adjust as necessary to meet customer demands and company goals.

• Identify and resolve production-related issues that may impact quality, output, or safety.

• Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

 

Leadership and Team Development:

• Supervise and guide a team of supervisors and production leaders across all shifts, ensuring effective team coordination and performance.

• Lead the training and development of supervisors and production leaders to improve their leadership skills and knowledge of manufacturing processes.

• Foster a positive work environment through effective communication, motivation, and conflict resolution.

• Evaluate performance, provide feedback, and ensure continuous improvement within the leadership team.

• Ensure all team members, including supervisors and production leaders, are well trained in the use of equipment, safety standards, and processes.

 

Process Improvement:

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize production processes.

• Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Engineering teams to identify and resolve process inefficiencies and product defects.

• Lead root cause analysis of production issues and implement corrective actions.

 

Production Reporting and Data Analysis:

• Monitor and analyze key production metrics such as throughput rates, downtimes, and cycle times.

• Prepare and present production reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) and areas for improvement.

• Maintain accurate records of production activities, inventory levels, and staff attendance.

 

Safety and Compliance:

• Ensure all production processes and practices comply with company safety policies and procedures.

• Conduct regular safety audits, identify hazards, and implement corrective actions to ensure a safe work environment.

• Promote a safety culture and encourage all team members to report safety concerns.

 

Inventory and Resource Management:

• Coordinate with supply chain and warehouse teams to ensure materials and components are available as needed.

• Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper storage and handling of materials to prevent damage or loss.

• Optimize resource utilization and minimize downtime through efficient scheduling and shift delivery.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• University degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related field (preferred).

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in production or manufacturing management in a multinational environment.

• Knowledge to interpret production, quality, and financial indicators.

• Knowledge in blueprint interpretation.

• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.

• Knowledge of SixSigma.

• Knowledge of ISO 9001 Standard (IATF16949 - Desirable)

• Minimum English B2. Oral and written proficiency. (Desirable)
