Job Description:

Job Title: Design Engineering Supervisor 

Location: Heredia, Costa Rica 

Company: Bourns,  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Supervise and mentor a growing team of design engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project execution. 

  • Oversee the design and development of new products and components, from concept to production. 

  • Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. 

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and marketing, to ensure seamless project integration. 

  • Conduct design reviews and implement feedback to optimize product performance and reliability. 

  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to meet organizational goals. 

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and product quality. 

  • Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in design engineering. 

  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture, encouraging continuous learning and development. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in design engineering, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role. 

  • Proficiency in CAD software, preferably SolidWorks and PTC Creo, and other engineering tools. 

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 

  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations. 

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field. 

  • Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems. 

  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and materials. 

  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP).
