I. BASIC PURPOSE:
To provide comprehensive characterisation, device analysis, and technical support for new product development and existing product lines. This includes supporting RMAs, MRBs, reliability and characterisation failures, reverse engineering, and general laboratory management
II. DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES (End Results Expected):
- Provide characterisation support across Protection Division product lines including TISP, TVS, TBU, GDT, MOV, and Multifuse technologies.
- Produce clear, concise summary reports for characterisation testing, clearly identifying whether product requirements are met.
- Develop automated solutions for characterisation tasks using Visual Basic & GPIB programming.
- Design, build, maintain, and repair equipment required for characterisation tasks.
- Provide PCB design and procurement support for characterisation and life-test requirements.
- Develop and edit test programs for STi ATE test systems.
- Perform device analysis for customer RMAs, yield issues, reliability failures, and competitive reverse engineering.
- Manage laboratory operations including equipment calibration, ATE tester calibration, equipment repairs, and component procurement.
- Maintain quarterly GBNT testing requirements

VII. BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
- 5 GCSEs including English, or equivalent.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Awareness of SPC charting requirements.
- Experience in semiconductors or similar manufacturing industries.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
- Familiarity with non‑conformance management.
- Understanding of product inspection techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel.
- Experience with Visual Basic or test automation (beneficial).
- Experience with ATE systems and PCB design (advantageous).
OTHER SKILLS:
- Access database experience.
- SAP experience
