The Automotive Account Manager manages all sales and customer support activities for all Bourns® products in assigned customers’ automotive markets.
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Achieve the agreed upon sales objectives for the assigned products in the assigned markets.
2. Demonstrate proven sales prospecting, relationship building, and related sales activities with specific focus on the following:
a. New product sales growth at both new and existing customers
b. Maximize profit margins associated with existing products and customer relationships.
3. Develop Annual Business Plan projections for the assigned accounts. Must be able to think on both strategic and tactical levels.
4. Provide customer support and account maintenance for the assigned customers in assigned automotive markets, to achieve customer loyalty.
5. Coordinate and communicate project requirements to the appropriate people within Bourns (Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing) and provide feedback to the customer as required.
6. Keep informed of internal engineering and manufacturing activities, including design, drawing, program reviews and “project requirements.”
7. Ensure customer satisfaction pertaining to Bourns’ organizational disposition of customer engineering activities, including design, drawing, and program reviews, testing, root cause analysis, field test failures, plant issues, and cost reduction initiatives. However, the above activities are the ultimate responsibility of each Bourns individual quality, design, and manufacturing disciplines. The main focus of this position is sales growth.
8. Coordinate customer satisfaction with timely quotations and prototype deliveries for customer programs.
9. Obtain and communicate market information on current or potential products or future programs with Bourns management.
10. Maintain compliance to current ISO standards, IATF 16949, customer specific requirements and Bourns’ product development processes, as applicable. Support, promote, and perform in a manner consistent with high performance teams, continuous improvement goals, and the values of Bourns Automotive Division.
BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree
- TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 3 – 5 years and/or relevant work experience in the automotive market, preferably in sensors and electronics technology. The ideal candidate has experience in automotive component sales with a proven history in successful sales growth and prospecting. Experience in high volume manufacturing. High level of problem-solving experience. Valid Driver’s License is required.
- INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Must develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, sales team, program management and the plants. Flexibility and high energy level required. Must have a team selling approach to the job. Must be familiar with Strategic Selling concept and able to put it into action. Has excellent team building skills and knows how to motivate others throughout the organization. Needs to take hard measures to ensure maximum results for Bourns Automotive Division and Bourns, Inc. overall. Characterized by an out-of-the-box thinking attitude.
- ORAL/WRITTEN: Excellent verbal skills in English required to present ideas, concepts, and solutions for assigned account problems to Bourns Management. Demonstrated presentation skills required. Other languages an asset. Excellent written communication skills.
- SCHEDULING AND PLANNING: Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple tasks and projects in alignment with dated objectives and goals.
- WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Office environment. Domestic and/or international travel required.
SALARY RANGE: $115,000 – $140,000
